Osteria al Duca

We asked our local friends for an authentic Veronese dinner and they brought us to this gem of a restaurant. First, the menu is a fixed price of €26 euros for a first and second course. (Great value!) For my first dish, I tried the Bigoli al torchio con ragù d’Asino (donkey meat) and for my second dish I had the Bistecca di cavallo alla griglia (horse meat steak). I didn’t have any issue with the types of meat and if I hadn’t known, I wouldn’t have suspected that the meats were anything other than a delicious beef. We had a fantastic vino bianchi with our meals and a Recioto della Valpolicella (dessert wine) with biscottis. Highly recommend the Sfogliatine con crema all’arancia Salame di cioccolato and Semifreddo di Giulietta (nocciola) con salsa al cioccolato for dessert. These two desserts were amazing. This was absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best eat meals we have had on our trip to Italy.

The food was very good. There is a menu to choose from, consisting of 2 courses. The best arrabbiata pasta I have ever had. The pasta with pesto was average. A good salad with fresh vegetables. I ordered horse steak to try how it tastes. However, I didn’t like it.

We arrived here as a walk-in during a busy lunch service and were seated instantly. The set menu is excellent value and you can sample a variety of Veronese dishes including Bigoli. The food was excellent, arrived quickly and our service was excellent throughout. There are so many places to choose from in Verona but I was glad we stopped by here as it’s frequently recommended: well worth the visit!

The food was absolutely delicious! They serve a menu with a fix price, includes first and second plate and the portions were very generous. Service super friendly and fast! The restaurant is quite nice but the rooms are a bit small so the tables are quite close to eachother. Definitely recomend ! :)

Very friendly staff and great atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was simple but tasty and came out quickly. It is right next to 'Romeo's house' so if you're sat in the window you do get quite a lot of tour groups outside taking photos, so great if you like people watching but could be akws if you don't 😁

Abbiamo mangiato benissimo, 3 primi piatti gustosi e abbondanti rinforzati da un piatto di formaggi e baccalà con polenta. Tutto buono. Personale gentile e ospitale. Il conto esageratamente onesto!

Very good, typical Italian restaurant

Restaurant sympathique. Personnel accueillant et faisant des efforts pour les étrangers, carte multilingue). Fréquente par touristes et locaux. Cuisine variée. On a apprécié nos plats (tranches de filet de bœuf et pâtes Romeo). Très content de notre choix de restaurant (suggéré par Le Chat). Les enfants ont apprécié les penne tomate 🍅 basilic.
